Step-by-Step Guide: Changing Language on Google Chrome for iPhone & Android
Sometimes it can be difficult to use Google in a language other than your native language. Changing the search language of Google’s desktop and mobile browsers is easy, regardless of which language you want to use. The technology giant allows users to change the language on all its services, including the Chrome browser. Let’s see how you can add languages to Google’s browser, services or direct web pages, or change the language displayed by default.
Change the language of Chrome on Android devices:
Users can choose the default language for the Chrome app’s menus and settings.
Step 1: Open Google Chrome.
Step 2: On the right side of the address bar, tap More, then under Settings, open Languages.
Step 3: On the Chrome Language tab, click on your current language.
Step 4: A list of languages will appear. Choose your preferred language.
Step 5: Once the language is loaded in the toolbar, tap on the Start tab.
To translate a web page in Chrome on Android:
Step 1: Open Google Chrome.
Step 2: Open a webpage written in another language.
Step 3: A notification will appear at the top of the screen, tap the language you want to translate the page to.
If the person does not find the Translation notification at the top of the screen, they can request a translation. To do this, you need to open Google Chrome and on the right side of the address bar, tap on “Add” and then “Translate” option.
Now let’s see the steps to translate web pages in Chrome on iOS devices:
Step 1: Open Google Chrome on iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Go to a webpage written in a different language.
Step 3: Select the language you want to translate to at the top of the screen.
To change the default iOS language, open Settings, go to More Languages, then select the language you want.
If your Chrome browser does not offer translation, try refreshing the webpage. If you are still unable to tap Translate, then the language may not be translated.
